Seattle Activists Hold Light Brigade Against Skanska and UW

From activists in Seattle: 

Last night in Seattle, activists held a light banner over major overpasses of Interstate 5 that read, "SKANSKA + UW = DEATH LABS," to expose and shame both Skanska USA and the University of Washington for their plans to build a new underground animal research lab. Countless drivers and pedestrians witnessed this silent protest, tainting the name of these two powerful institutions. Activists also stood outside the construction site for the lab, a stark reminder of what is at stake if construction is not halted.

Skanska: "Don't Break My Heart!"

From NYC Animal Defense League:

We were 14 strong to brave the coldest temperatures of the year and freezing winds making sure that Skanska USA could hear our cries that the people of New York want them to cut their ties with the building of an underground animal testing lab at the University of Washington.

For the fine people of New York City we passed out these glittery Valentines that told them "Don't Break my Heart! No New Animal Labs!!" with information about NYC Animal Defense League and the No New Animal Lab campaign.

In the face of an ever-growing campaign to stop Skanska and the University of Washington from building an underground animal lab, Skanska is weaving a web of attempts to shut down No New Animal Lab us a reminder of why we must fight so hard to save the animals who would be destined to die in that lab. Skanska will use the corporate tricks available to them, but we have the power to overcome their obstacles with a movement inspired by the animals and dedicated to using a diversity of tactics to make sure this lab is never built.
