Skanska: "Don't Break My Heart!"

From NYC Animal Defense League:

We were 14 strong to brave the coldest temperatures of the year and freezing winds making sure that Skanska USA could hear our cries that the people of New York want them to cut their ties with the building of an underground animal testing lab at the University of Washington.

For the fine people of New York City we passed out these glittery Valentines that told them "Don't Break my Heart! No New Animal Labs!!" with information about NYC Animal Defense League and the No New Animal Lab campaign.

City declares "state of emergency" and bans residential picketing because of NNAL protests

In the face of an ever-growing campaign to stop Skanska and the University of Washington from building an underground animal lab, Skanska is weaving a web of attempts to shut down No New Animal Lab protests...giving us a reminder of why we must fight so hard to save the animals who would be destined to die in that lab. Make a Year-End Donation to Stop the Lab!

Dear friends and supporters,

Right now, animals are trapped inside of labs. They are bolted to restraint devices, injected with poison, cut open while alive and conscious, sit alone for hour after hour in a cold metal cage. They cry, but we can’t hear them. They convulse, but we can’t hold them. They lose all hope from their eyes, but we can’t see them. We cannot let the walls sever us from their struggle. We must work desperately to save others from the same fate.
