South Florida animal and earth advocates have been involved in the No New Animal Lab campaign from its beginning. Last week, they decided to keep pressure on despite heightened security presence. Activists visited the Ft. Lauderdale offices of Skanska USA and brought over 20 protesters to the front doors of the building. They quickly caught the attention of building security, who didn't anticipate the protest moving from its previous position on the sidewalk. Meanwhile, another smaller group used this security distraction to enter the building from the other side, enter the 2nd floor offices of Skanska, and swiftly disrupt work with chanting and flyers before being thrown out.
